Australia will be withdrawing from the 2020 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest due to the current Coronavirus pandemic. There is currently a ban on international travel, both in and out of the country due to the pandemic – with these restrictions likely to be in place into next year.
SBS, the Australian broadcaster, has announced that they haven’t broken ties with the Contest. They are likely to return next year and looking at ways to broadcast this year’s show, although a broadcast confirmation is still to be made.
