Following on from the ANNOUNCEMENT that “De Eurovisa” will be broadcast as usual, YLE have announced further programming to fill the void of this year’s cancelled Eurovision Song Contest.
Three former Contests will be shown in full. 2014 (their best placing since 2006), 2006 (Lordi achieve Finland’s only victory to date), and 2007 (the only Contest they’ve hosted) – to be shown on the 14th, 15th and 16th May respectively.
Viisukevat 2020 will also be shown across the three evenings. On the 14th, Mikko Silvennoinen and Krista Siegfrids will announce the Finnish Top 10, following a vote on the YLE website. On the 15th, Mikko and Krista will host a request show that allows the audience to talk through what their requests mean to them. Finally on the 16th, Mikko and Krista will have a 45 minute pre-show, ahead of YLE’s evening of Eurovision.
On the 16th, YLE will show Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light, along with other European broadcasters at 21:00 CET.
