As you will have read earlier in the year PBS, the Maltese broadcaster withdrew from hosting this year’s edition of the Eurovision Young Dancers. However, all is not lost as Czech Television has stepped into the breach to host the 15th contest in Prague on Saturday 16th December in Forum Hall of the Prague Congress Centre.
Libor Bouček is returning as host after performing the same duty at the 14th contest when Czech Television held the show in Pilsen two years ago. Petr Zuska will be tasked with choreographing the show.
Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor said: “This is an important competition for young dancers on the threshold of a professional career. The EBU is thrilled to celebrate the vitality and eclecticism of the modern dance scene together with our Member broadcasters. We look forward to finding Europe’s newest dance star in Prague,” he added.”
Alongside Czech Television, seven other broadcasters have so far signed up for the contest – with 15th July the deadline for signing up. These are WDR (Germany), PBS (Malta), NRK (Norway), TVP (Poland), RTP (Portugal), RTV (Slovenia) and SVT (Sweden).
