It was announced today by the Croatian National Broadcaster HRT that Jacques Houdek has been internally selected to go to Kiev and represent his country in The Eurovision Song Contest 2017. He comes with more than his fair share of experience and has tried to represent Croatia no less than seven times before. He first entered the Dora in 2002 and has managed to come 4th on 2 occasions. Also he entered the race in 2011 and was runner up to eventual representative Daria Kinzer. He even had his version of the eventual entry which Daria sang in English in Dusseldorf.
Jacques is also a coach in The Voice of Croatia and in fact coached Nina Kraljić to victory last year who went on to represent Croatia last year in Stockholm reaching the Final. Information on the song which he will sing will be released shortly and there is every chance he may have a hand in the composition of the song considering he has written many of his previous Dora entries. In the meantime here is the video of his version of the Croatian song in 2011 that went to Dusseldorf.
Are you looking forward to hearing Jacques song and finally seeing him go to Eurovision? Give us your thoughts below.
