Without a single note heard the betting odds are already out for who will represent Ireland at Eurovision 2015 according to Bookmakers Paddy Power. So who is leading the way?
Here is our take on the these early betting odds. We think that Leanne Moore and her new girl band Lir could be a strong contender to make the National Final in Ireland when RTE announce their final 5 acts.
Melanie McCabe came so close to being in the Irish National Final in 2013. She could be a good bet too.
Now we can take Johnny Logan, Jedward and Linda Martin out of the equation according to media reports that they are not in this year’s selection.
Podge and Rodge – For our international readers these are 2 adult humoured puppets. We already went down that road with Dustin the Turkey and we already know how that ended.
Shane Filan – Well since the split of Westlife Shane’s solo career has not been as successful as that with his band mates. His album sold reasonably well but could do with the exposure of what Eurovision could offer. He has been linked for the past 3 years in the betting odds but he has already ruled himself out.
Mikey Graham – Well he had a shot at it in 2010 and I think that is as far as it will go.
Imelda May – Well I very much doubt that would happen – well not for some time to come. She has a successful music and tv presenting career so I guess there is no real desire to enter Eurovision.
Interesting to see that neither Mary Byrne or Nikki Kavanagh are listed with Paddy Power as of yet.
So who do you think will be in the Irish National Final?
