As we reported last night the semi final of Turkvizyon 2014 took place – you can read the article of qualifiers HERE. However our friends at Eurovoix have spotted some potential voting irregularities that actually affect the countries that qualified for the upcoming Grand Final.

Two key events took place in the voting.

Turkmenistan award themselves 5 points taking their score up from 164 points to 169 points thus making them qualify for the Grand Final ahead of eliminated countries Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Yakutia. All other countries were unable to award themselves any points.

Secondly the points total for Bosnia & Herzegovina appear to be added incorrectly. Bosnia & Herzegovina allegedly scored 171 points taking them into the Grand Final. However if you add up all the points that they received they actually got 168 points. This would lead them outside of the qualifying countries for the grand final. When all of the points given to Bosnia are added up Bosnia scores a total of 168 points. These points changed a comfortable three point qualification into the final in 11th place to a tie with two other countries on 168 points; Yakutia and Bulgaria (both of which would have qualified for the Grand Final).

So we have placed a call into TRT (Turkish National Broadcaster) and asked them for a comment on these irregularities. We await a response.
