Simon Webbe had it all. He was a member of one of the UK’s biggest selling Boy Bands and was living the dream.

The Eurovision 2011 singer yesterday revealed how after the finish of the band’s reunion tour last year along with massive property losses forced him to declare bankruptcy, he was drinking a bottle of brandy a day.

It was after waking up following a performance in Kazakstan with bruises on his face and no memory of where he was that Webbe turned to band mates Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa for help.

At his lowest moment the ‘I Can’ singer admits to contemplating suicide. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said: “I didn’t leave the house for weeks on end except to buy bread or milk. I hated who I was and started questioning my whole life. I was really depressed.”

“I turned mirrors round so I didn’t have to look at myself. I didn’t want to be here, didn’t want to be a part of anything. I wanted to black out.”

Webbe confided in his fellow band members and Lee Ryan told him that something good would come his way and sure enough the next week the BBC called Webbe asking him to join ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

You can never tell what is fully going on in someone’s life! If you are feeling isolated make sure to talk to a friend or your local Doctor.
