If you haven’t already planned your trip to Vienna for next May then this should give you some inspiration. Today, the City of Vienna and the Host Broadcaster ORF signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, making their cooperation official.
Vienna’s Mayor Michael Häupl and ORF’s Director General, Dr. Alexander Wrabetz announced important dates for your diary or on-line calendar. I’m old school so into the diary it goes.
SEMI-FINAL ALLOCATION DRAW
January 26th, the Mayor of Copenhagen will formally hand over the Eurovision torch to Mayor Michael Häupl of Vienna at a special insignia ceremony. This date will also see the countries for Eurovision 2015 drawn into their semi finals. The final running order will not be decided until all the songs have been submitted to the EBU and ORF. This is how it panned out last year plus a guide to how it is decided.
HEAD OF DELEGATIONS MEETING
The annual meeting of the Heads of Delegation will take place on March 16th and 17th. This is when the national broadcasters submit their entries for Eurovision 2015 to the EBU and ORF. It will also be a chance for the national broadcasters to see the venue and get a sense of the scale of the event.
TICKET SALES
This still planned for Mid November but as of yet no final confirmations.
Set your watches as we are on official countdown to Eurovision 2015.
