Eurovision 2015 will be the 60th running of the contest. Following the victory of Conchita Wurst this year in Copenhagen, the contest will be in Vienna next year and demand from Eurovision and Conchita fans for tickets is already immense. So the first set of details have come from ORF (Austrian National Broadcaster) and they come with a warning!
Two websites are claiming that you can purchase your tickets for Eurovision 2015 now. This is incorrect – Ticketswien.at and Worldticketshop.at are claiming that fans can buy their tickets now from prices ranging from 399 Euro to 999 Euro. I have attended Eurovision since the dawn of time and never have I seen prices like this for the contest.
The Director General of ORF Alexander Wrabetz has commented on these “alleged ticket offers” saying
“Ticket sales for the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ is expected to start in November currently there are no tickets in circulation! Internet already offered tickets do NOT originate from ORF or an official partner of the sender. Infos for All ticket sales will be published on eurovision.tv and published on ORF.at”
So if this will be your first Eurovision Song Contest to attend, please wait until official communication is sent from the EBU and ORF. It is anticipated that tickets will go on sale in November time.
We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
