It would not be Eurovision if several songs in national selections or the main contest were accused of possible plagiarism. This year is no different as French media have gone into overdrive.
Last year many said that Cascada’s “Glorious” was similar to Loreen’s Glorious – do you remember that debacle?
This year the band Twin Twin, who are in the French Selection for Eurovision 2014, have been the first act of 2014 to have allegations of plagiarism put towards them.
Their song Moustache was premiered last Sunday.

It is being claimed that “Moustache” sounds like Belgian singer Stromae’s song “Papaoutai”. Check it out for yourself.
Twin Twin took to the airwaves to say
“We have our own style, a mix of electro, hip-hop, rock songs. The resemblance with Stromae’s song is apparently because of the intro [of the song] but be aware that the song was written a year before the release of his album! Therefore, there is no debate. This intro has a common pattern for an electro song. We are rather flattered to be compared to Stromae because he is a great artist but the word “plagiarism” is not right! “
Virgin Radio in France have even created a mash-up of Twin Twin, Stromae and Jordy (you remember the French toddler who had a massive hit in the 90’s with Dur Dur D’etre Bebe) and have played it on air.
Do you think the songs sound familiar? Will this potentially damage Twin Twin’s chances of winning the Public Vote in France? Let us know.

Still another plagiarism in Eurovision 2014, the song representing Macedonia is very very to close to the song of Loreen (who won the contest 2 years ago) “We got the power”.
Macedonia has to present another song, please listen to both songs, it is very weird.
Macedonia = 0 point, thief song!!
