🌏 #EBU: Future Focus On Continental Expansion

The EBU, the European Broadcasting Union, have determined how they want to expand the Eurovision brand in the future.

FOLLOWING the launch of Eurovision Asia, the EBU have revealed that they wish to expand the Eurovision brand with further continental versions. With this in mind, the EBU and Voxovation will no longer be working on Eurovision Canada or Eurovision India. This follows the ill-fated American Song Contest. Martin Green, Director of the Eurovision Song Contest, reflected that the American Song Contest was not really “our format”, and that “if you do only country (formats), it becomes The Voice or Idol”.

Martin Green had further to say during the Eurovision Asia press briefing. He explained that the EBU’s focus on further expansion of the Eurovision Song Contest is through continental formats, not individual countries.
