Cyprus is truly unplugged from Eurovision 2014 now. Wait there is some good news.

There has not been much to cheer about if you are a Cypriot Eurovision fan with the announcement by Broadcaster CyBc of their withdrawl from the 2014 contest – until now.

“Cyprus Unplugged” is a concert that will be taking place in Brussels on November 9th with several Eurovision singers from Cyprus performing. Who do they have on stage for the night?

First up is the one and only Anna Vissi who has competed at Eurovision on 3 occasions. 1980 and 2006 for Greece and in 1982 for her native Cyprus. She has gone on to huge success in both Greece and Cyprus.

Next on stage is also 3 time Eurovision contestant Constantinos Christoforou who has brought Cyprus to the Top 10 twice. Once as a solo artist in 1996 and then as the lead singer of the group “One” in 2002. He later returned to the contest as a solo artist in 2005.

Last but by no means least is Despina Olympiou who represented Cyprus this year at the contest in Malmo.

All the proceeds from the concert will go to Children’s Charities in Cyprus. Full details of the event including where to purchase tickets can be found here

A night of Cypriot Eurovision music sounds like a good night to us.
