Eurovision Contestant and Croatian superstar has praised the decision of HRT (the country’s national broadcaster) for withdrawing from Eurovision 2014.
HRT cited economic reasons for their departure from the contest. However Tereza Kesovija – whom has performed twice at Eurovision – has a very different point of view.
In an interview with the news website Dalmacijanews, Tereza said “Great. Thank God they’ve decided not to send a representative. In recent years they were just spending money on it and nothing happened”
She went on to say that “The pause could be good to change the system of selecting a representative”
Tereza Kesovija has performed twice at Eurovision – Monaco in 1966 with the song “Bien Plus Fort” where she was selected by Princess Grace Kelly to be the nation’s representative and again in 1972, where she represented her home country of Yugoslavia with the song “”Muzika i ti” – placing 9th.
How will Eurovision fans in Croatia react to this sentiment from Kesovija?

Why not make a break indeed for a better return even if it means less participants next year as no absent countries intend to come back in 2014 for the moment?
It is a shame that Croatia want to be there but that the financial environment is holding them back
