RTSH (Albania National Broadcaster) have officially announced their Eurovision 2014 selection details. They will again be using the prestigious music festival “Festival i Kenges” that is in its 52nd edition.
RTSH have released this television advertisement calling for submissions for the festival and ultimately Eurovision 2014.
Rules for Entry
- Fully completed songs (lyrics and music) have to be submitted on CD to the RTSH studios on October 8th & 9th
- A profile photograph of the artist is to accompany the application
- Artists must be at least 16 years old and can only perform one entry in the festival
- Songwriters can only submit 1 song, yet lyricists can submit a maximum of 2 entries
Unfortunately Albania did not reach the Grand Final of Eurovision last year but their best result to date was 5th place in Baku where Rona Nishliu performed the sensational song “Suus”.
The “Festival i Kenges” is traditionally held at Christmas time and is a highlight for Eurovision fans, as it is one of the few remaining national selections that still uses a live full orchestra for the performances – reminiscent of Eurovision past.
