Abba – Eurovision winners of 1974 – and Global super stars have found that Eurovision 2013 has been “GOLD” for them with extra record sales.
“ABBA GOLD” as of yesterday became the second biggest selling album of all time in the UK by overtaking The Beatles iconic album “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. The album has now sold over 5.1 million copies in the UK alone. Released in 1992 – a collection of their Greatest Hits – it has gained further publicity following the Eurovision Song Contest being held in Sweden last week.

The band scored their first UK #1 with their 1974 Eurovision winning song “Waterloo” and the rest as they say is history. Also this week sees Benny & Bjorn’s Eurovision 2013 Opening Act song with Avicii – “We Write The Story”- make the Top 200 singles in the mid week chart.
However last week also saw the album “A” by ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog enter the British album Chart at #6. So all that ABBA touches does in fact turn to “GOLD”. Entering Eurovision is not as bad a s it seems!
