Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani had their first rehearsal of their song for Eurovision 2013 – Waterfall. This is the only male/female ballad in the competition and is one of the pre contest favourites.
Nodi is dressed in black whilst Sophie is sporting a long white dress in contrast to him. There are 3 Swedish backing singers on the stage and the backdrop is a moody dark blue. There is soft dry ice sweeping over the stage. A wind machine kicks in and billows Sophie’s dress softly as she and Nodi stand alongside each other. There is a deliberate walk over the stage to come together and some hand holding/arm touching moments. I think the chemistry between them looks much better on stage now.
Georgia have wisely kept the staging fairly simple and let the song speak for itself. The long note at the key change is stunning. There are puffs of smoke (a bit strong for my liking) and then a pyro waterfall falls from the ceiling. I would choose to remove the smoke puffs at the key change personally but apart from that is brilliant. This is vocally strong, well presented and is definitely not going to let Azerbaijan have things their own way. Gave me chills
