UK Video Revealed as “Langford” changes to “TYLER” during a “Total Eclipse of the Heart” –

UK

The United Kingdom have been “Holding Out For a Eurovision Hero” for some time now, and it seems to have come in the form of Welch legendary singer Bonnie Tyler. Yes the BBC has confirmed that Bonnie Tyler will represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2013 with the song “Believe in Me” that we have a copy of below.

However if you had seen Bonnie on tour recently she was performing the song as part of her set on the “Rock Meets Classic Tour”

For the younger generation, Bonnie Tyler was a superstar in the 1980’s on a global scale. Her most memorable songs “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and that karaoke classic “Holding Out For a Hero” were huge hits on both sides of the Atlantic!. With such wide recognition it is hoped that Bonnie will take the United Kingdom back to the Top 10 at Eurovision.

and my personal favorite

Have the BBC pulled a master stroke or will it be Humperdinck all over again? What do you think of the song “Believe in Me”?

  1. Funny that a lot of British ESC fans are heavily critical of Bonnie and her song whereas other Eurovision fans are generally expressing their approval. I, personally, love the track and reckon it could ‘do a Yohanna’. Good luck Bonnie!

  2. I think some of you might be underestimating Bonnie’s chances to do well: althouh sha has not had any success in the UK since the 80 or 90ies, she still has some on the continent: in France she’s still hudgely popular.
I might overestimate her chances too though. But having Bonnie is such big news and delight !

  3. Surprising the Beeb stuck with the formula as last year. It’s not the worse song and will certainly do better the Hump did. Will be interesting to see how produced it will be, simple or a plethora of dancers and the like. I foresee some styling challenges.

  4. Yet again the BBC fails to impress. This is a lazy choice, Bonnie Tyler has no relevance whatsoever to today’s music. Yes, she may be great to see at some sort of retro show but she has had her day. ‘It’s a heartache’ for the UK again this year and the BBC has nobody else to blame but themselves. They will never garner a new generation of fans with this sort of selection. It’s actually quite sad.

  5. Unfortunately I think this is going to be a repeat of last year. It’s the younger generation who are and need to be getting more involved in Eurovision now and I don’t think Bonnie Tyler is going to register with a lot if them. I’ve only listened to the song once but it didn’t grab me straight away – which is usually the trick for a successful Eurovision song

Surprised that the BBC didn’t go for someone younger this year or at least have a more appealing song. If this doesn’t do well for a second year in a row I think that it could do damage to the interest of the contest in the UK and potentially their participation in the future.

A lot of Jedwards success was due to their huge presence on social media and I can’t see this happening with Bonnie Tyler. She should get a good jury vote but can’t see a huge public vote. It’s just not commercial enough. Disappointing.

  6. Bravissima Bonnie !

My preferred singer for years in my favorite show for years too !
    That’s what I truly call a miracle !

The BBC will always surprise us for bad or for…good too ! Yeaaaaaaaaaaah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
