RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, have revealed the selection rules for Montesong 2027 – their national selection for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, in Burgas.
RTCG have released the rules for Montesong 2027 – the selection process include:
- A public call, with the song submission window to open soon. Any author and performer worldwide, with no citizenship requirement, can apply.
- A Selection Committee, composed of musicians and performers, appointed by the RTCG Director General. Within 10 days of the call closing, the Committee will judge the entries anonymously, purely on musical, performance, and artistic quality. Each member scores every song out of 100 (composition 50, lyrics 30, production potential 20). A song needs at least 75 points to qualify, and the committee builds the ranking list, including reserves, for a total of up to 16 finalists.
- On the night of the contest, competing entries will be assessed by a professional jury of 5 members that will account for 50% of the final vote, and by online vote, which accounts for 50%.
- If a song turns out not to be original or was previously published or performed, it is disqualified at any stage. If legal disputes or unresolved issues arise, RTCG may choose another song using the same criteria.
- RTCG may also reserve the right to use an internal selection should no song meet expectations.
