VRT, the Flemish speaking Belgian national broadcaster, has confirmed non-participation, at the 2027 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

According to VRT, they have no plans to send a representative to the 2027 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. VRT’s children’s channel, Ketnet, wants to change its approach, shifting the focus on the winner of the competition, where a single figure commands all the attention, to recognising all the participants. A spokesperson from Ketnet had the following to say:

“Not only is the winner an idol, but all the participants are.”

RTBF, the French speaking Belgian national broadcaster, has yet to decide on participation, at the 2027 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
