#BIRTHDAY: 21 Oct – Jerry Heil from Ukraine is 31

Do you ever study what could be the best draw in a Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final? There are theories that if you sing in [insert draw order here], then you have no chance of winning.

It’s true that a song on second has never won Eurovision, so some say some songs are deliberately placed there to ensure they don’t win. Conversely, the organisers may want to disprove this theory, so they place a highly-fancied song there so prove everyone wrong. In 2024, our friends in Ukraine sent the powerful duo of today’s birthday girl Дже́ррі Гейл/Jerry Heil (née Яна Олександрівна Шемаєва/Yana Oleksandrivna Shemaieva and her rapper pal alyona alyona. Needless to say, They eased through their semi-final and those organisers/scamps running the contest decided to put them on second. It could have been for either of the reasons above, but they finished third. Only one country’s televoters left them out of the top 10, and had the juries liked them more, who knows what may have happened. Слава Україні!
