RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, have confirmed they are assessing participation, at the Eurovision Young Musicians.

RTCG wanted to debut at the Eurovision Young Musicians, in Liepāja, however the twelve participation slots have already been secured. RTCG have therefore set their sights on a possible 2028 debut. A spokesperson for RTCG had the following to say:

“RTCG has expressed interest in participating in this competition and is currently considering the possibility of Montenegro participating in the 2028 edition, as the list of 12 participants for the 2027 edition is already complete.

Potential participation will also depend on budgetary possibilities, which will be known at the end of the year, after the budget for the next period has been planned. Therefore, at this time, we are not planning Montenegro’s participation in the 2027 edition, but the possibility of participation in 2028 remains under consideration.”
