NPO, the governing body for Dutch public broadcasting, have confirmed participation, at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, in Burgas.

NPO have confirmed that they will be responsible in selecting the Dutch representative, while NOS, a Dutch national broadcaster, will broadcast the Contest, as well as providing the Dutch commentary. Jet de Ranitz, Chair of the Executive Board of NPO, had the following to say:

“During consultations with the EBU, it was agreed to once again place the contest’s original founding principle at the heart of the event.

NPO understands that participation in the Eurovision Song Contest evokes mixed feelings in the Netherlands. For this reason, we have strongly urged the EBU to make the contest’s unifying nature a key element of the event once more, in a time marked by geopolitical turmoil, war, and polarisation.

We are now seeking to re-establish that connection by remaining attentive to global events and providing a platform for dialogue about them. To help shape and champion this direction, we, as the Dutch public broadcaster, want to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest again.”
