BNT, Bulgarian national broadcaster, have received four host city bids, for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.
As it has been EXPECTED, Burgas, Plovdiv, Sofia and Varna have submitted host city bids for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. The successful applicant will be known by the end of this month. Milena Milotinova, BNT Director General, had the following to say:
“We are not just looking for a place to hold the music event, but a partner city that will walk the entire way with us until May 2027.
We have created a working group to evaluate the proposals. It starts working from Monday according to the clear criteria and standards of the EBU. We will inform you in stages.”
The Government of Bulgaria has adopted the Action Plan proposed by the Organising Committee for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. The Action Plan outlines the specific activities that need to be carried out – the first been the selection of the host city. As we had previously explained, the host city must:
- A fully equipped event hall with appropriate capacity and infrastructure
- Good international connections and sufficient accommodation in the region
- Clear organisational, security and sustainable implementation capabilities
- The venue must have the capacity for at least 10,000 people
- The venue must be available for a period of eight weeks at a minimum, seven weeks before the final and one week after the final
