🇨🇾 #JESC26: Cyprus Confirm Participation In Ta’ Qali

CyBC, the Cypriot national broadcaster, have confirmed participation at the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Ta’ Qali.

CyBC will be holding two selections – one for the artist and one for the song – the same selection process as last year.

For the artist selection, the following rules apply:

  • Participants must be aged between 9 to 14 on Saturday 24th October 2026.
  • Only one performer may be submitted per application.
  • For the application video, performers can sing with a backing track or acapella.
  • During the in-person audition, performers must perform with a backing track.
  • Participants must not publicly stated that they are participating in the selection until the winner has been announced.
  • The closing date for performer applications is Tuesday 30th June, at 10:00 BST/11:00 CEST.

Applicants will be assessed on their vocal abilities, stage presence and ability to perform a song. A number of artists will be invited to live auditions, where a jury (3 adults and 2 children) will award points in the style of Eurovision (12, 10, 8-1). The artist with the most points will go on to represent Cyprus in Ta’ Qali. In case of a tie, the artist who received the most sets of 12 points will be declared the winner.

For the song selection, the following rules apply:

  • Songs must be original and not previously released.
  • Songs must be between 2:30 and 3:00 in length.
  • Songs must be in Greek (songs in the Cypriot Greek dialect are also accepted). Up to 40% of the lyrics may be in a different language.
  • The lyrics must be appropriate for a children’s audience.
  • Songs created, produced or modified with the use of AI are not allowed.
  • The deadline for the song selection is Wednesday 8th July, at 10:00 BST/11:00 CEST.
