🇽🇰 #KOSOVO: RTK Continue To Push For #ESC & #JESC Participation

RTK, the Kosovan nation broadcaster, is continuing to push the EBU to be allowed to participate in both the Eurovision and Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Following the REVIVAL of Akordet e Kosovës, which will be replacing Festivali i Këngës, RTK has written an open letter to the EBU, ahead of the EBU General Assembly in Prague, on June 25th and 26th. During the EBU General Assembly, it is expected that discussions on any potential changes to the organisation’s statute, including new membership categories such as Non‑European Membership and Auxiliary Membership.

RTK’s Acting Director General, Zana Spahiu, has highlighted in the open letter that for more than two decades, the broadcaster has actively promoted Eurovision values and maintained strong audience engagement in Kosovo, despite not being allowed to participate. She goes on to say that RTK should be considered within these changing legislations.

Zana Spahiu continues by stating that the Eurovision Song Contest has already expanded beyond a strictly geographical remit. Zana Spahiu, RTK’s Acting Director General, said the following:
