
Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the previous editions of the Contest. Today, we celebrate Minsk 2018.
On Sunday 25th November 2018, the 16th Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place at the Minsk Arena, in Minsk, Belarus. The show was hosted by Evgeny Perlin, Zena and Helena Meraai. The Interval Act was provided by Polina Bogusevich and all participating Acts.
Two countries debuted in Minsk – Kazakhstan and Wales, while Azerbaijan, France and Israel returned. They joined Albania, Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Malta, North Macedonia (then known as FYR Macedonia), Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, The Netherlands and Ukraine. Cyprus didn’t return for the 2018 edition.
1st Place: Poland – Roksana Węgiel, “Anyone I Want To Be”
2nd Place: France – Angélina, “Jamais sans toi”
15th Place: Ireland – Taylor Hynes, “IOU”
