SBS have announced that Australia will be using an internal selection process to choose their entry for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool,UK rather than their National Final Australia Decides. Australia have used the internal selection method before . When they joined the contest in 2015, Guy Sebastian was chosen to represent them , followed by Dami Im in 2016, Isiah Firebrace in 2017, Jessica Mauboy in 2018. They then switched to a National Final selection in 2019, when Kate Miller-Heidke won the Australian golden ticket to represent her nation in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Australia was this year represented by Sheldon Riley ,who won this year’s edition of Australia Decides with his haunting song ” Not the Same”. He finished 15th in the Grand Final in Turin, Italy.
