TVR, the Romanian national broadcaster, have announced a new approach for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, in Liverpool.
TVR has revealed that the 2023 representative will be chosen purely by the public and no juries will be involved. The selection process will be finalised over the coming days and will then be revealed. Mihai Predescu, Eurovision 2023 Project Manager, had the following to say:
“We are a new team and we propose a different Eurovision contest, based on transparency, professionalism and digitisation. We changed the voting system: only the public will choose the piece that will represent Romania. And one more thing: this Eurovision will be on air on TVR and much more present than in the past online, on social media networks.”
