It’s great news from Romania as today the administrative council of TVR unanimously approved Romania’s participation in the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in May 2023 in Great Britain.

Also today, the President-Director General, Dan Cristian Turturică, requested the members of the Board of Directors (CA) of SRTv, a mandate in order to contact some law firms from Switzerland to evaluate the chances of SRTv in a dispute with the EBU/European Broadcasting Union – the organizer of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). The mandate, granted with 11 votes in favour, also aims to obtain the costs related to such an approach, as a result of the situation created at this year’s edition, when the organizer cancelled Romania’s votes. According to the Eurovision regulations, any dispute is settled under Swiss jurisdiction.

This year, Romania was represented by WRS with the song “Llámame” which finished 18th in the final, but claimed lots of popularity after the contest, especially in Spain, becoming a Summer Hit.
