#UK: Sam Ryder Extends Record Second Placings – Part 1/4

During the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, Sam Ryder secured the United Kingdom a record sixteenth second placing. The last time the United Kingdom reached this position was in 1998, one year after their last victory. Today we start to look back at the second placings.

1959

Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson took part in the 1959 Eurovision Song Contest, in Cannes, France. They scored 16 points with “Sing, Little Birdie”.

1960

Bryan Johnson took part in the 1960 Eurovision Song Contest, in London, the United Kingdom. He scored 25 points with “Looking High, High, High”.

1961

The Allisons took part in the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest, in Cannes, France. They scored 24 points with “Are You Sure?”.

1964

Matt Monro took part in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He scored 17 points with “I Love the Little Things”.
