On the lead up to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Turin, we are looking back at the countries participating in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we continue with Latvia’s story.

Latvia debuted at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest, in Stockholm, Sweden. Brainstorm participated with “My Star”, finishing in 3rd place and 136 points.

Latvia have cracked the Top 5 one more time. Marie N represented Latvia at the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest, in Tallinn, Estonia. They participated with “I Wanna”, finishing in 1st place and 176 points.

Samanta Tīna represented Latvia at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She participated with “The Moon Is Rising”, finishing in 17th place in the Semi Final and 14 points.

Citi Zēni will represent Latvia at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin, Italy. They will perform “Eat Your Salad”. Will they take Latvia’s second victory?
