Earlier today, TRM – the national Moldovan broadcaster, held the live auditions to select the country’s representative for Eurovision 2022 in Turin.
A total of 28 acts took the stage this afternoon, performing 29 songs (Sasha Bognibov performed two of them) in the battle to win the golden ticket.
After 3 hours of live auditions, the winner was selected: Zdob și Zdub & Frații Advahov with the song “Trenulețul”
Zdob și Zdub have already represented Moldova successfully back in 2005 and 2011.
This year, Zdob și Zdub are joined by Frații Advahov to sing a song about the friendship between Moldova and Romania represented by the famous train that links the two capitals (Chisinau and Bucuresti). The song is heavily on the folk side but hearing the rhythm you can’t stay still. “Hey Ho, Let’s Go!”
