The American Song Contest premieres for the first time on Monday 21st February and there are already hints of broadcasts internationally. Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have listed the show on their website – however it is unclear whether the broadcasts will be on television or online.
It is still unclear whether or not NBC will make the show available to everyone internationally. The European Broadcasting Union who are linked to the Contest, might be allowed to offer broadcast rights to their members, although this has yet to be confirmed. Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, might also be an option to broadcast the Contest, as it becomes available across Europe. Peacock is already available via Sky in the UK and Ireland.
