On the lead up to the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Paris, we are looking back at all the countries to have participated in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we are continuing with Cyprus’ story.
Rafaella Kosta represented Cyprus at the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Kyiv, Ukraine. He participated with “Thalassa, ilios, aeras, fotia”, finishing in 11th place and 32 points.
After a five year wait, Cyprus returned to the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Marsa, Malta. Sophia Patsalides participated with “I pio omorfi mera”, finishing in 9th and last place, with 69 points.
After a one year wait, Cyprus returned to the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Valetta, Malta. George Michaelides participated with “Dance Floor”, finishing in 16th and last place, with 27 points.
Nicole Nicolaou represented Cyprus at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Tbilisi, Georgia – their final participation to date. She participated with “I Wanna Be A Star”, finishing in 16th and last place, 45 points.
