#SWEDEN: Melodifestivalen 2022 Presenter & Host Cities Announced

This morning, SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, started to release details surrounding the 2022 Contest. Oscar Zia has been announced as the presenter for the Contest. Oscar Zia co-hosted with Anis Don Demina during Semi Final 2 of the 2021 Contest. Oscar Zia had the following to say:

“It obviously feels like an honorable assignment – suddenly I’m in line after Kristian Luuk, Petra Mede and Gina Dirawi. I have watched Melodifestivalen since I was little. The whole family would watch and no one was allowed to talk. I did not want to miss a second! I am very excited to go on tour and I will do my best to lead the viewers through this party.”

On Sunday, we REVEALED that SVT plans to take Melodifestivalen back out on tour – pending pandemic restrictions. The tour will kick off on February 5th and conclude on March 12th. The planned Host Cities have now been revealed:

  • Semi-Final 1: Malmö (Malmö Arena) – February 5th
  • Semi-Final 2: Gothenburg (Scandinavium) – February 12th
  • Semi-Final 3: Linköping (Saab Arena) – February 19th
  • Semi-Final 4: Lidköping (Sparbanken Arena) – February 26th
  • Andra Chansen: Örnsköldsvik (Hägglunds Arena) – March 5th
