
This morning, SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, started to release details surrounding the 2022 Contest. Oscar Zia has been announced as the presenter for the Contest. Oscar Zia co-hosted with Anis Don Demina during Semi Final 2 of the 2021 Contest. Oscar Zia had the following to say:
“It obviously feels like an honorable assignment – suddenly I’m in line after Kristian Luuk, Petra Mede and Gina Dirawi. I have watched Melodifestivalen since I was little. The whole family would watch and no one was allowed to talk. I did not want to miss a second! I am very excited to go on tour and I will do my best to lead the viewers through this party.”
On Sunday, we REVEALED that SVT plans to take Melodifestivalen back out on tour – pending pandemic restrictions. The tour will kick off on February 5th and conclude on March 12th. The planned Host Cities have now been revealed:
- Semi-Final 1: Malmö (Malmö Arena) – February 5th
- Semi-Final 2: Gothenburg (Scandinavium) – February 12th
- Semi-Final 3: Linköping (Saab Arena) – February 19th
- Semi-Final 4: Lidköping (Sparbanken Arena) – February 26th
- Andra Chansen: Örnsköldsvik (Hägglunds Arena) – March 5th
- Final: Stockholm (Friends Arena) – March 12th
