Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we celebrated the countries that participated in this year’s Contest, in Rotterdam. We are now remembering the countries that had previously participated in the Contest – today we remember Slovakia.
Slovakia debuted at the Contest in 1994, in Dublin, Ireland. Tublatanka finished in nineteenth place, with their entry “Nekonečná pieseň”, scoring 15 points.
The most successful entry from Slovakia was in 1996, when the Contest took place in Oslo, Norway, Marcel Palonder finished in eighteenth place, with his entry “Kým nás máš”, scoring 19 points.
The most recent Slovakian entry was in 2012, when the Contest took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. Max Jason Mai finished in eighteenth place in the semi final, with his entry “Don’t Close Your Eyes”, scoring 22 points.
