#SPAIN: RTVE’s New President Wants Eurovision Taken Seriously

RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has a new President – Pérez Tornero. Pérez has stated that RTVE are interested in the Contest and that they want context from the younger population. Following the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer, Ana María Bordás’ role as Head of Delegation, maybe under threat, due to potential restructuring.

Pérez Tornero, the new President of RTVE, had the following to say:

“We are going to take Eurovision very seriously. RTVE are the only Spanish public television [broadcaster] that belongs to the EBU. We are interested in the event and in contact with young people in their European context.”
