A few weeks back , we were hearing rumours via many sources that Montaigne may not make it to Rotterdam to perform in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest . Today , it has now been confirmed that Montaigne will not be able to travel due to the border and travel restrictions imposed due to the ongoing pandemic hitting the whole world. Montaigne is one of the first acts to confirm that she will be performing remotely from her home country . Montaigne made a statement via social media today.
” I regret to inform you all that I will not be travelling to Rotterdam for Eurovision this year. I WILL still be participating remotely. We will send my performance of Technicolour from Australia . I am sad to have not gotten the opportunity to perform on the big stage but grateful that I got to wear two years of Eurovision in a row , during a pandemic nonetheless, which is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity . Thank you all for your support and please , if you love Technicolour, send your douze points in for Australia “
What do you think? Is this the news you were expecting to hear from Australia? Do you think other acts may be affected by travel restrictions and not make it to Rotterdam . Drop us a line and let us know your thoughts in the comments box!
