
Well there is good news and bad news from the following four countries – two will be attending the Junior Eurovision Contest in Warsaw, while the other two will not be.
Israel will not be returning to the Contest this year in Warsaw. No further explanation has been given by KAN. Israel last participated in 2018, in Minsk, following their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Serbia will be in Warsaw following an announcement by RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster. While it is unclear how their entrant will be selected, all acts since 2014, with the exception of 2017, have been chosen internally.
Spain will be in Warsaw after a successful return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year. RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, have started a search for their 2020 entrant – however it is yet to be announced whether this will be done via an Internal Selection or through a National Final.
Switzerland debuted at the Contest back in 2004, in Lillehammer – however have yet to return after their debut. SRF, the German arm of the national broadcaster, has stated they want to concentrate on the Eurovision Song Contest.
