Australia will see a possible change in broadcaster if participation takes place in Warsaw. Following ABC participating in 2017, 2018 and 2019, it is likely that SBS will return to hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after 2015 and 2016.
ABC had a contract with the European Broadcasting Union for the three years they took Australia’s participation. SBS don’t have a dedicated children’s channel like ABC.
The other above-aforementioned countries have given their non-participation reasons:
- The Czech Republic will not be participating in Warsaw, but will be concentrating on the Eurovision Song Contest instead.
- Israel will not return to the Contest for a second consecutive year, due to a lack of educational intention.
- Romania’s TVR have confirmed they won’t be returning to the Contest, with no further comment given.
- Slovenia’s RTVSLO will once again be staying away from the Contest, due to financial reasons and the afternoon slot of the show.
