
BBC One will kick-start an evening of Eurovision on Saturday 16th May. At 18:30 GMT, BBC One will broadcast “Eurovision: Come Together” – the show announced originally as this year’s cancelled Contest’s replacement. Graham Norton will not only be interviewing James Newman, the UK act for 2020, but he will also be inviting the public to take part in a live vote to discover their favourite Eurovision performance.
Following “Eurovision: Come Together”, “Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light” will follow live at 20:00 GMT. Virtual sing-a-longs will be part of the show. Fans will be singing along to “What’s Another Year”, while this year’s participating artists will join together to sing “Love Shine A Light”. Graham Norton will be providing live commentary during the show.
Over on BBC Two from 22:00 GMT, Rylan Clark-Neal will host “The A-Z Of Eurovision”. The show will be an alphabetical look over the past 65 years. From ABBA to Mans Zelmerlow, Rylan will be looking at the most memorable moments from the Contest.
The evening will conclude its programming at 23:00 GMT, when BBC Two repeats “TOTP2 Goes Eurovision!”. This TOTP2 special was first broadcast in 2007.
Monday 11th May
BBC Radio 1 has recorded a special Newsbeat documentary – “Eurovision 2020 – The Cancelled Coronavirus Year”. The documentary will follow James Newman as he prepares for Rotterdam and then what he does following the cancellation of the Contest. This documentary will be available on iPlayer from 06:00 GMT.
All week on BBC Radio 2, “The Ken Bruce Show” will be showcasing the entrants from this year’s cancelled Contest, as well as classic entries too. Monday to Friday, 09:30-12:00 GMT.
“Dana: The Original Derry Girl” will be broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland, at 22:45 GMT. Further details of the show can be found HERE. For those outside of Northern Ireland, the show will be repeated on BBC Four, on Friday 15th May, at 23:00 GMT.
Friday 15th May
On BBC Four, there is another chance to see “Eurovision At 60”. The documentary features interviews with Graham Norton, Sir Terry Wogan and Conchita Wurst, to name but a few. The show will be shown at 21:30 GMT.
Saturday 16th May
“The Graham Norton Show” on BBC Radio 2, 10:00-13:00 GMT, will feature classic entries from years gone by. This is before we rejoin Graham for “Douze Points”, looking back at his first ten years of commentary. The documentary will air at 21:00.
“Eurovision Kings & Queens Of Pop” will follow at 22:00 GMT. Rylan is back and will feature two hours of is favourite entries from years gone by. A number of other archive radio shows will be broadcast over the Grand Final weekend – featuring on both BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
