Eurovision 2019

#TelAvivJournal: Day 8

Yesterday we saw the last of the second semi finalists have their second rehearsals, before they take to the stage once again for their dress rehearsals.

Russia and The Netherlands will walk through to the Final, but won’t necessarily win the whole Contest yet. Russia seems too polished, while without an audience, Duncan Laurence doesn’t have that overall connection he needs.

Croatia and the wings of Roko kicked off the proceedings yesterday. While it’s not a completely bizarre number, it should stand out enough due to the running order – which should mean qualification. North Macedonia showed how they’ve come back fighting. A strong balkan ballad between more upbeat songs nearer the end should see this one qualify too. While the bookies don’t predict it at the moment, unlike previously, Azerbaijan rounded off proceedings with their robotic arms. An outstanding end to the semi final that will see them qualify after last year’s non-qualification.
