BIRTHDAY: Anna Oxa from Italy is 58 today

We’re continuing our look at duets through the ages. As I’ve said, they can be hit or miss. They can be well-suited, or thrown together in a rush because they look attractive, or no-one else wants the gig.

Today we have what seems like the thrown-together duo. But actually they work really well, and there are fewer better opening songs. The lady of the duo is today’s birthday girl Anna Oxa (née Iliriana Hoxha) who was a very striking blonde in the day. Yeah, this cracker of a song only finished ninth, but it’s something you have to stop to watch as the smoulders away and he looks like he can’t believe his luck.
