She’s one of the most influential singers in the whole world, and one of the best selling artists of all time with record sales in excess of over 250 million. So with the recent release and success of the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, it was only a matter of time before they made a film about Céline Dion too!
The Canadian singer, whose international success is often attributed in part to winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 with “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi”, has announced she and her record company have authorised the making of the film. Named after one of her singles, “The Power Of Love” will look at Céline’s early life in Quebec, her rise to stardom and her relationships with those closest to her, including her late husband René Angélil.
The movie is slated for a 2020 release in cinemas and will also feature music from her impressive and extensive back catalogue. Valerie Lemercier, a French actress, is set to play Céline.
