#ALBANIA – 7 facts about Lindita Halimi that you must know!
On the 24th of December we finally found out the first song from Eurovision Song Contest 2017! Albania got the ball rolling with “Botë” – the national selection season has begun!
Many sites wrote about it, but for those of you who were too busy eating Christmas pudding, here are 7 facts that you must know about the contestant from Albania: Lindita Halimi!
#1 Lindita was born on 24th March 1989 in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, in what is now Kosovo.
#2 In 2009 she won the 6th edition of the music festival Top Fest with the song “Ëndërroja” (I dreamed)
#3 Lindita is married to the American rapper Big D, who she met in Kosovo after he came there as a soldier in 1999.
#4 She wrote the English lyrics to Elhaida Dani’s “I’m Alive” (Albania 2015)
#5 She competed twice at Festivali i Këngës, in both the 53rd and 55th editions, winning the latter with the song “Botë” (English: World). She will now represent Albania at Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv
#6 Linidita made the Top 51 of American Idol earlier this year, earning high praise from judges Henry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban
#7 Lindita has already prepared the English lyrics for her song “Botë” before winning the festival. We can’t wait to hear it!
