45 Singers already shortlisted for Irish Selection
No hanging about is the news from Ireland. Who will be singing on the big stage in Europe? That is the question that many are asking.
Well those questions will be answered sooner rather than later.
45 singers have already been shortlisted and the deadline for applications for the National Selection has yet to be reached but get your skates on!
Yes Ireland’s National Broadcaster TG4 along and Adare Productions are deep into the search for the first ever Irish representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The official closing date for applications is tomorrow Friday June 5th. There have already been auditions in Letterkenny, Claremorris, Dublin, Portlaoise and Cork. An additional Dublin date will be added for the massive influx of late entries.
To date there have been hundreds of applications from singers across the country as interest in the country’s participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Sofia,Bulgaria on November 21st 2015 grows
It is reported that 4 Semi Finals and 1 Grand Final will be the selection process for the Irish Entry for the contest.
Acts must be between the ages of 10 and 15 as of the date of the Junior Eurovision Grand Final in November and will have to contribute to the writing of the Irish Entry.
Last year the Junior Eurovision contest was hosted by Malta and was won by Italy with their first ever entry at the contest – Vincenzo Cantiello with the song ‘U primo grande amore’.

Hundreds of hopefuls have already auditioned for the first round in the National Selection. Get your application in before 17:00 GMT tomorrow and you could be still in with a chance to qualify for round 2 of the Irish National Selection.

Since Italy won Jr Eurovision last year why is it being held this year in Bulgaria? Why are the rules different from those for regular Eurovision?
