OK – Monika and Vaidas get 12 points for the best looking duo. I don’t know which one I fancy more. What a great opener to the show – happy, fun and got the audience on their feet – even I was shaking what my mama gave me! Lithuania has to go through after that performance

IRELAND

Molly Molly Molly!!! You just nailed it girl. Fabulous performance and I think that final shot at the end when you looked so overwhelmed and excited was the most endearing thing I have seen at Eurovision this year. I can’t call your qualification chances but you were #Amazing

San Marino

SAN MARINO

With all the will in the world I so wanted our San Marino duo to give a good performance and they did. They gave one of their best performances of the song to date but the song is overly dated. I think I have eaten cheese younger than that song. If that was to qualify it would be at the expense of a far superior song. What does San Marino look like on a Saturday night?

Montenegro

MONTENEGRO

This just went huge in the press centre. Knez is an amazing performer and that dance move has not been seen since Ryan Dolan for Ireland in 2013. Great performance and should definitely be there on Saturday night

Malta

#WOW – Ah my Maltese ‘Warrior’ – I have always liked Malta and Amber and my girl did not disappoint. Strong, Fierce and a slit on her dress that went on FOREVER. Amber just gave Malta a fighting chance to get to the final

Norway

NORWAY

WOW WOW WOW –  Norway was stunning!!!! Sweden is the favourite to romp this semi-final but I think Norway may have just won it with that performance. Brilliant from Mørland and Debrah Scarlett owned that,

Portugal

PORTUGAL

Ah Portugal – You know I was speaking to my good friend from Portugal – the lovely Nina – and I said that Portugal had a cracking song in their final – though this was not it. Having said that Leonor Sang the pants off the song though at times she looks as if she was in pain. What is that saying that my former boss had – you cannot polish it but you can roll it in glitter.

Czech Republic

CZECH REPUBLIC

Great show from the Czech’s. Vocals great and performance great. Do they have enough support to get them through? – they might just manage .

Israel

ISRAEL

He’s a ‘Golden Boy’ – well he better watch where he says that as he could be in trouble. This is Hadise (Turkey 2009) meets Justin Timerlake circa 5 years ago plus an Ibiza summer hit. One cannot deny that this is the party song of the night and the FW scale just went into overdrive. Not the best lyrics but you that really doesn’t matter when you have an uptempo song. Israel should make the final with this one.

Latvia

LATVIA

Brilliant vocal performance from Animata. This song may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is completely different to everything else in the competition and she executes it brilliantly. I am really hoping for a qualification for Latvia this year – it’s been too long!

Azerbaijan

AZERBAIJAN

It’s the ‘Hour of the Wolf’ – this is one of the best songs in the contest from one of the best singers in the contest. Elnure was in amazing form and this is sailing into the final and deservedly so. Baku Potentially Beckons!

Iceland

Attention!!! Can someone please pick up the petulant 9 year old currently having a tantrum on the Eurovision Stage in Vienna!!!!! She won’t take her princess dress off and is refusing to put her shoes back on!!! Oh bless her she is giving it her best but the pitch is terrible. This may still qualify but I find very little to justify it.

Leather, Cute little stick men, Hot Singer, Funky song – one word – Stockholm 2016

Switzerland

SWITZERLAND

I think the Swiss have had the biggest job to undertake with their staging of their song because it is not an instant catchy tune but in Eurovision terms they have definitely polished the turd!!!! I think it looks amazing and she has won this years frock wars. Marginal qualifier – could go either way.

Cyprus

I’m having a moment – and I don’t mean an Icelandic petulant 9 year old moment but a stunning Cypriot moment. I think I want to marry John Karayiannis or at the least have him sing at my wedding. That was pure quality and has to go to the Final.

Slovenia

SLOVENIA

Brilliant. Such a contemporary and upbeat entry from Slovenia. This is so catch and quirky. A great performance. Pretty confident this will be in the final.

Poland

POLAND

I am an absolute sucker for a good old fashioned ballad and I adore this song that builds and builds to a rousing climax. Sung wonderfully and don’t forget that this is a family show and will have OLD people like me voting. I think this has a good chance of going to the final. Sue me if you don’t like it 😉
