With many of the Balkan countries announcing their intentions for Eurovision 2015, Croatia had been very quiet. However today they have announced a decision on both Eurovision 2015 and Junior Eurovision 2014.

Croatia will not be participating at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna. The news from HRT (National Broadcaster) came through today that they will not be at the 60th running of the Eurovision Song Contest.

However on the same day the broadcaster has announced that they will be participating in Malta at Junior Eurovision in November. Dino Jelusić won the first Junior Eurovision competition in 2003 with “Ti si moja prva ljubav”.

As for Eurovision it seems that financing and a string of poor results have made HRT take the decision to sit 2015 out. The last time Croatia qualified for the Grand final at Eurovision was in 2009 Igor Cukrov feat. Andrea Šušnjara placed 18th in Moscow with the song “Lijepa Tena”.

So good news that Croatia will return to Junior Eurovision but unfortunate that they will not be in Vienna.

What are your favourite memories of Croatia at Eurovision?
