Ukraine selects the song ‘Pryyde vesna’ for Junior Eurovision

Last night in Carpathian mountain resort of Bokuvel, Ukraine selected its participant for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Malta in November. the trio Sympho-Nick won the ticket with the song Прийде весна’ (Pryyde vesna), translating into English as ‘Spring will come’.

The lucky trio are Sofia Kutsenko, Amalia Krymska and Marta Rak, and they beat 17 other hopefuls to defend Ukraine’s pretty good record in JESC.  Indeed, Sofia Tarasova was runner-up to Gaia Cauchi last year.

Junior Eurovision this year takes place on Saturday on 15 November from the Malta Shipbuilding, just outside the capital Valletta.  To date, 14 countries will be participating.  Stay tuned to Eurovision Ireland for more news when it happens.
