UKRAINE – It seems that Zlata Ognevich has not been grounded “Like Gravity” as her star is ascending. Her Eurovision entry from 2013 brought the Ukraine to 3rd place and that was followed up by presenting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. However she is back to making music and this mid tempo number “My Melody” has retro 70’s funk stamped all over it.

The best way for me to describe this song is to compare this to a Rose Royce meets a Donna Summer “Disco Dance Extravaganza”. Groovy guitar rifts with sweeping orchestral movements make this song one that I want to “Shake what my mamma gave me”.

Many artists are trying to recapture the 70’s disco era but are lacking soul. Zlata’s song has so much soul that it is overtaking the “Soul Train”. Zlata dedicates this song to “Lovers” – well I dedicate this song to “Lovers of Soulful Music”. If you can get your groove on then you can appreciate this song. All that is missing from this song is a little Barry White and I would explode with the excitement.

Bravo Zlata. Keep defying Gravity.
